Air leakage diagnostics
Finding where air escapes after a failed or borderline test, so it can be sealed before a retest.

Testing & commissioning
A qualified thermographer carries out thermal imaging surveys that show heat loss, missing insulation, cold bridges and air leakage paths, and gives you a report with annotated thermal and visual images.
Thermography is a diagnostic survey, not a Building Regulations requirement. It is used to check insulation and junctions during or after a build, to investigate cold or damp spots, and to plan retrofit work.
Reliable images need a temperature difference between inside and outside of usually at least 10°C, so most surveys take place between late autumn and early spring. External images are taken when the sun is not warming the walls, often after dark, and rain or strong wind can mean rescheduling.
Your written quotation confirms the exact scope, what is included and any limits for your building.
A report with annotated thermal and visual images, an explanation of each anomaly and its likely cause, and the conditions at the time of the survey.
Sent as a PDF. We can send it to your building control body or agent on request.
Our reports and testing support the compliance process. Approval and completion decisions remain with your building control body: the local authority, a registered building control approver, or the Building Safety Regulator for higher-risk buildings.
Send what you have. Missing details will not stop an enquiry; we will tell you anything still needed.
Rarely with useful results. Heat loss surveys need a large temperature difference between inside and outside, so most take place between late autumn and early spring.
Not on its own. It shows surface temperature patterns, and the report explains likely causes. Opening up or further tests may be needed to confirm them.
It can show air leakage paths, especially when the building is held under pressure with a test fan. That is part of our air leakage diagnostics service.
